Markup Settings
Markup settings control how much extra your clients pay for WhatsApp and RCS conversations on top of the platform’s base cost, and the default tax applied to transactions.
WhatsApp Conversation Markup
Every WhatsApp conversation has a cost based on the category (Marketing, Utility, or Authentication). You can add a markup percentage so your clients pay more, and the difference is your profit.
How It Works
Base Cost (set by Meta/platform): ₹0.80 per marketing conversation
Your Markup: +20%
Client Pays: ₹0.96 per marketing conversation
Your Profit: ₹0.16 per conversationSettings
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable WhatsApp Markup | Toggle to activate conversation markup |
| Marketing Markup % | Extra percentage on marketing conversations |
| Utility Markup % | Extra percentage on utility conversations |
| Auth Markup % | Extra percentage on authentication conversations |
These are global defaults. You can override markup percentages on a per-plan basis in Plans & Pricing.
RCS Markup
If your clients use RCS messaging, you can set a separate markup:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable RCS Markup | Toggle to activate RCS markup |
| RCS Markup % | Percentage added to RCS message costs |
The page shows the current wholesale cost and the calculated client charge based on your markup percentage.
Customer Billing Tax (GST)
Set a default tax that applies to client transactions:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Tax Name | Label shown on invoices (e.g., “IGST”, “GST”) |
| Tax Percentage | Tax rate (e.g., 18 for 18% GST) |
This tax is applied as the default for:
- Plan subscriptions (if the plan doesn’t have its own tax setting)
- Add-on purchases
- Wallet recharges
Individual plans and add-ons can override this with their own tax settings.
Saving Changes
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. The new markup takes effect immediately for all future conversations and transactions.
Note: Markup changes only affect future messages. Messages already billed retain their original cost.
