Special days and holidays
Tell Splashify Pro the days your business is closed or keeps different hours. On those days customers who write while you are closed get the right away message, and your team's chats wait for the next opening.
Advanced and Enterprise plans
Special days and holidays are on the Advanced and Enterprise plans, and in the free trial.
Add a special day
Open Settings
Click Settings (the gear icon) in the top bar or the left sidebar.
Click Holidays
Under Messaging, click Holidays, next to Live Chat.
Click Add special day
Give the day a name, for example Diwali, and choose the First day. For more than one day, also choose the Last day (up to 90 days).
Choose the hours that day
Pick Closed all day, or Special hours and set when you open and close.
Write an away message (optional)
This message goes out once to a customer who writes while you are closed that day. Leave it empty to send your normal off-hours message.
Click Add day
The day shows in Your special days, soonest first.
Example: Diwali, 8 November, Closed all day, away message "Hi! We are closed today for Diwali. We will reply on 10 November."
Repeat every year
Switch on Repeat every year for days with a fixed date, like 15 August or 25 December. The day then comes back every year on the same date. A day on 29 February comes back only in leap years.
What happens on a special day
- Closed all day: you count as closed the whole day. A customer who writes gets the day's away message, or your normal off-hours message (when it is on) if the day has none. The welcome message is not sent.
- Special hours: you count as open only between the times you set. Inside them the welcome message works as on any other day; outside them the away message goes out.
- Teams with their own working hours: the special day replaces their hours too. While such a team is closed, its chats wait in its queue, as on any closed evening, and the day's away message comes before the team's own off-hours reply.
- Other days: your working hours from Settings > Live Chat apply as before.
Each customer gets one away reply while their chat stays open. A customer who got your normal off-hours message the night before, in a chat that is still open, does not get the holiday message as well. A customer who sends five messages gets one reply.
Time zone
Dates and times are in the time zone of your working hours (Settings > Live Chat). A team with its own working hours reads them in its own time zone: for a team in New York, the holiday starts at midnight New York time.
Change or delete a special day
Click Edit next to the day to change it, or Delete to remove it. After you delete a day, your normal working hours and messages apply on that date again.
Only the account owner and admins can add, change or delete special days. Other team members can see the list.
