Large exports
A small export downloads at once. An export with more than 5,000 rows, like all your contacts or the report of a big broadcast, takes longer to make. We prepare that file in the background and email you when it is ready, so you can keep working.
What happens when you export
This works for:
- Contacts: the Export button on the Contacts page.
- Broadcast reports: the Export CSV button on a broadcast's report.
When the file is large you see a message like this:
We are preparing your file (about 2,40,000 rows). We will email it to [email protected] when it is ready. You can keep working.
You can leave the page or close the browser. The file is made either way. It has the same columns as the file you get straight away.
A large broadcast report lists every person exactly as the instant file does, with the same details on each line, but the lines are not in the same order. Sort the file in your spreadsheet if you need it by time or by status.
When the file is ready
You get an email
The email goes to the person who started the export: the account owner, or the team member's own email address. It says what the file is and how many rows it has. The file is not attached.
Click Download the file
The button opens Splashify Pro. Sign in if you are asked to.
The download starts
The download starts by itself on the My Exports page. If it does not, click Download next to the file.
You also get a notification in the app, under the bell at the top of the page.
Find your exports
Open Settings (the gear icon in the left sidebar or the top bar) and click My Exports. The list shows:
Click Download on a file that is Ready. While a file is Preparing, the page updates by itself.
How long files are kept
A file can be downloaded for 7 days after it is ready. After that it is removed, and the link in the email stops working. Export again from the same page if you need the file later.
Your files stay private
An export is never a public link. You must be signed in to your account to download it, and each download link works only for a few minutes.
Team members
A team member sees and downloads only the exports of pages they can open. A contacts export needs access to Contacts, and a broadcast report needs access to Broadcasts. The account owner sees every export of the account. See Team members.
Limits
- One large export is prepared at a time for your account. If you start more, they wait their turn.
- You can start up to 20 large exports in 24 hours. Exports that download straight away are not counted.
- If you start the same export twice while it is being prepared, you get the one already in progress.
If an export fails
The status shows Failed with the reason, and we email the person who started it. Nothing in your account is changed. Start the export again from the same page. If it keeps failing, contact support.
